Its temple is dedicated to Bhagwati and Lord Shiva it is an important attraction of Lakhamandal. Described in Mahabharata that Lakhamandal is situated on the bank of river Yamuna is often associated with the Lakhshagriha. In India it is a place of historical and mythological significance. Where Duryodhan tried to kill the Pandavas by making them stay at a place the ‘Laksha Grah’ this house is made of wax is Lakhamandal is the same place. During the trek, you one gets to see and learn a lot of things. In the Jaunsar –Babar region is a cultural and historical trek.
The Shivling is made of Graphite which shines on pouring water on Shivling. In this region a tribe is known as Jaunsari live. Jaunsari tribes are known as practice polygamy as well as polyandry. A popular Temple is Lakhamandal in between Mussoorie and Chakrata. This fort is belonged to Maharaja Birat, according to an ancient Hindu epic Mahabharata. There are ruins of an ancient place which the Kauravas made of dried resin from a tree for the Pandavas immolate them alive at Lakhamandal. This trek is particularly inviting for ornithologists and rich in flora and fauna. It is a long trek 22km from Kalsi to Viratkhai. During the local Diwali is the good time to visit the Temple.
Day 01: Rishikesh – Lakhamandal
Traveler can buy a time to explore the vivid brilliance of surroundings during the time of evening. Stay overnight in camp.
Day 02: Lakhamandal – Bijnath
To Gangotri drive 12km. To Bijnath further 12 kms trek withpacked lunch. Stay overnight in camp.
Day 03: Bijnath – Magti
To reach Magti traveler would trek around the distance of 17km with packed lunch. Spend over night at camp.
Day 04: Magti – Biratkhoi
To reach Biratkhoi is located around 11km of distance trekkers would walk an uphill from Magti and during the time of Mahabharata traveler can stroll around to witness the Epic which was drawn here.
Day 05: Biratkhoi – Kalsi
The 22km trek to Kalsi with packed lunch Stay overnight in camp.
Day 06: Kalsi – Rishikesh
Drive back to Rishikesh with the sweet memories in their heart. Now your trip is end here.

By Road: From Chakrata visitors can reach Lakhamandal by bus or hiring taxi. From Chakrata it is situated at 100kms in Mussoorie road.
By Train: Dehradun is the nearest railway station to reach Lakhamandal. Taxis are easily available from railway station.
By Air: Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest Airport. Taxis are easily available here.
