Rudraprayag is beautiful pilgrimage center of hindus and located in the state of Uttarakhand. It is situated on the Confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers. Rudraprayag is one of the Panch prayag or Five confluences of Alaknanda River. The other four Confluence are Vishnuprayag, Nandprayag, Karnaprayag and Devprayag. The place is get its own named after Rudra Roop of Lord Shiva. It is situated at a distance of 34 km from Srinagar. It is small place that is located in the state of Uttarakhand. The all around area is surrounding by immense beauty. The main temple is Jagdamba Temple and Shiva Temple. The Koteshwar temple is situated on the bank of Alakhnanda River. It is one of the popular destination among the pilgrims. Every year Rudraprayag is visited by thousand of tourist for Chardham.
It is situated at a distance of 34 km from Rudraprayag at an elevation of 610 mts above the sea level. The two most important Shrine Kedarnath and Badrinath is drived from Rudraprayag. Augustamuni is located 18 kms from Rudraprayag at an altitude of 1000 mts above the sea level. Kedarnath, Madhyameshwar, Tungnath and Kalimath are the main temple of Rudraprayag that are visited by the Devotees all around the year. Summer Season: Summer starts in between the month of April to till the month of june. Summer is moderately hot in Rudraprayag with the maximum temprature is 36 degree and minimum is 20 degree. During the summer season days are hot but nights are relaxing cool.
Winter Season: December is the starting of winters in Rudraprayag and till the end of february. During the winters season wather is extremely cool with minimum temprature is zero degree and maximum is 15 degree.
Monsoon Season: Rudraprayag is experiences moderate rainfall in the month of July to till September. Rains bring the freshness and greenery to the place.
Dhari Devi Temple: Situated at a distance of 18.8 kms from Rudraprayag and lies on the bank of Alaknanda River, situated in between srinagar and Rudraprayag on Badrinath Road. In the Temple 20 meters high rock man mad idol is situated and holdes the great importance and faith among the People of Garhwal.
Augustmuni: Augustmuni is a town located on the bank of Mandakini River. The town gets its own name for- Rishi Auhustya. Augustyamuni is an important place for cahardham Yatra. It is also a heliped for Chardham Yatra. The beautiful surrounding, Mountains and Flowing Mandakini River and coolness of the place make it charming. Situated at a distance of 9.4 km from Rudraprayag.
Koteshwar Mahadev Temple: Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is situated on the bank of Alakhnanda River. The temple is a cave temple and dedicated to Lord Shiva. During the Maha Shivaratri a fari is organized and devotees visit during the time of fair. It is believed that Lord Shive meditated in the cave and situated at a distance of 4.3 km from Rudraprayag.
Maa Hariyali Devi: The temple of Maa Hariyali Devi is Surrounding by Himalayans and thick Green forests with at an elevation of 1400 m. This temple is one of the 58th shakti peeths. The Goddess here is known by various other names like Vaishno Devi, Sitla Mata, Bala Devi. Three idol are basicaly situated here Ma Hariyali Devi, Kshatrapal and Heet Devi.
Madmaheshwar Temple: The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the fourth temple in the Panch Kedar. In this temple Lord Shiva is worshiped in the form of black stoned navel-shaped lingum. It is believed the the temple is constructed by Pandaves. Located at an elevation of 3497 mts above the sea level. During the winter season the idol is shifted to Ukhimath. Offered the outstanding views of Neelkanth, Kedarnath and Chaukhumbha peak.
Ukhimath: Ukhimath is known as the winter home of Sri Kedarnath ji and Madhyameshwar. During the winter season the palki of shri Kedarnath ji is transfer here for next six months. Kedarnath Temple is also close during the winter season. The place has many other temples dedicated to God and Goddess. Deoria tal is flow here. It is situated at a distance of 37 kms from rudraprayag. Narsing tempel and Kalpavraksha are the other most popular attraction of the place.
Tungnath Temple: Tungnath temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva situated here is one of the highest temple in the world. It is also highest among the five Panch Kedar. Tungnath is an ancient holy shrine about 1000 year old and popular among the pilgrims.
Chandrashila: It is located 1.5 km from Tungnath. Chandrashila is a beautyfull place with beautyfull surrounding. it is belived that the lord Rama Meditated at this peak.
Kalimath: kalimath is one of the siddha peeths. Kalimath Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. During the navratra the large number of devotees and tourist can visit here.
Rudraprayag Temple: Rudraprayag temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located where the Alaknanda and Mandakini river come togather. Rudraprayag temple is the main temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shiva tutored him in the avtar of Rudra or the god of Music.
Gaurikund: This is believed that the place where Gauri meditated to win the heart of Lord Shiva as her Husband. Gaurikund is situated near the river Mandakini. Devotees can visit an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess of Parwati. Near the temple a kund is located with hot water to take bath. Situated at a distance of 66 kms from Rudraprayag and 14 kms trek is starts here to reach from Kedarnath.
Vasuki Tal: The charming lake offered majestic viwes of the Chaukhamba peak. vasuki Tal is a beautiful lake surrounding by the Himalayans Mountains Range. situated at a distance of 4135 mts above the sea level.
Guptakashi: Guptakashi is the houses of Th etemple of Ardhnareshwar and Vishwanath dedicated to Lord shiva. situated at a distance of 45 km from Rudraprayag. The major attraction of the temple is the idol of Lord Shiva in the form of Half Man and Half Women of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Kedarnath Temple: Kedarnath is one of the most important religious sites and holdes great importance among the Hindu Devotees. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The shrine was founded by the Adi Guru Shankracharya in 8th century. It is belived that the was constructed by the Pandavs. The shrine is closed during the winter season for next six months and the palki is transfered to Ukhimath and next six month worshiped at Ukhimath. The shrine is situated at a distance of 14 km from Gaurikund at an elevation of 11,755 ft above the sea level.
Deoria Tal: situated at a distance of 2 km from Chopta-Ukhimath at an elevation of 2438 mts above the sea level. one can enjoy the activities like bird watching and boating are the main attraction of the lake.
Khirsu: Situated at a distance of 56 km from Pauri at an altitude of 1700 mts above the sea level. Surrounding with the Oak and Deodra Trees with apple Orchards. Offered the imposing views of the majestic himalayan and located in the puri Garhwal District Of Uttarakhand.
Chopta: Popular as the "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand " and Situated at a distance of 64km from Rudraprayag. Chopta has increase the numbers of tourists in recent years and the region has become popular spot for Adventure Lovers and explores. The Highest temple of Lord Shiva "Tungnath" is situated here at a distance of 3.5 km from Chopta which should be covered by the foot.
Trijuginarayan: Trijuginarayan is the holy place where the lord Shiva and goddess parwati were married Here. Situated at a distance of 12 km from Sonprayag.
