About Purola
Purola is a small hill station situated in Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand state. It is situated at an altitude of 1600 mts above the sea level. This small beautiful town is surrounding by snow capped mountain and thick dense deodar forest. The beautiful town is famous for "Har- ki -Doon Valley" and Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. Hindi and Gadhwali language are spoken in purola. You can expect the snowfall during the month of January to March. One can enjoy your holidays during the month of October to till February. The population of purola is 2394 with male 1229 and female 1165 population. Litreacy rate is higher than compare to Uttarakhand. Known as the gateway to Har Ki Doon is situated on the way. One can easily reach to purola by two easy routes, First is Dehradun to Purola vis Mussoorie, Barkot and Uttarakashi and the seconnd is Rishikesh to Purola via Narendra Nagar, Chamba, New Tehri, Dharasu and Uttarkashi. Purola is a charming hill station and offered good options for accommodation.

Summer Season: March is the starting month of summer in purola to till the month of june. The maximum tempratute is 30 degree and minimum is 15 degree during the summer season. Summer is extremely pleasent during the summer season and best time to visit for local sightseeing and trekking.
Winter Season: Winters are beginning from October to till the month of March in Purola. The temprature is fall down upto zero degree and not increasing upto 24 degree celsius. This beautiful hill station is covered with snow sheet during the winter sesaon. You must visit during the month of January and February.
Monsoon Season: July is the starting month of monsoon to till the month of September. purola gets rainfall during the month of july to September. Rain brings freshness and refreshing on the place. you can also enjoy the various festivals during the monsoon season.

Uttarkashi: Uttarkashi is located at a distance of 78 km from Hanuman Chatti. It is located at an elevation of 1352 mts above the sea level. Purola is a place of Uttarkashi. It is situated on the bank of Holy River Bhagirathi. Uttarkashi is well connected by Motorable road with makor destination of Uttarakhand and the house of the most reputed Mountaineering institutes of Indian 'Nehru Institute of Mountaineering".
Har Ki Doon: Har-ki-dOOn is valley and situated at a distance of 92 km from Purola. It is situated at an Elevation of 3566 meters above the sea level. To reach the Har-Ki-Doon to take an easy trek from Purola. GMVN Tourist Rest House are established in Har Ki Doon.
Barkot: Barkot is famous for an ancient temple and situated at a distance of 49 km from Yamunotri. The town is situated at an elevation of 1220 mts above the sea level. The distance between Purolato Barkot is 30 km. Brkot is one of the important destination of Uttarkashi. Provides good facilities of Accommmodation.
Mussoorie: Mussoorie is known as the "Queen of the Hills" and popular its hill location Mussoorie is situated 103 km from Barkot. It is located at an elevation of 2005 mts above the sea level. Mussoorie is rich in flora and fauna. Mussoorie is located at a distance of 100 kms from Purola.
Hanol: Hanol is a small village situated at an elevation of 1429 mts above the sea level. This is famous for Mahasu Temple and Pavasi Temple. The town Honal is offered scenic beauty.
Sankri Village: Sankri is small village situated at a distance of 58 kms from purola in northwest region of uttarkashi. It is located in the tons valley affording majestic view of the snow clad Himalayans.
Musoorie: Mussorie is a famous hill station, One of the most visited palce station of India. Thousand of the tourist visit the place throughtout the year. Situated at a distance of 103 km from Barkot at an elevation of 2005 mts above the sea level. Moussoorie is a charming hil station and no need to Introduction.
