About Kathgodam
Kathgodam is a town that is located in the Nanital District in the state of Uttarakhand and part of the twin townsiop of Haldwani- Kathgodam. It is famous for its beautiful temples. The temple is dedicated to Sheetal Devi and Kalichaud attract many pilgrims and devotees. There is an ashram called the Harikhan taht is located near by Kathgodam. This is popular for picnic spots in the region. The main Attraction is the beauty of region. This is toy town with an averagr elevation of 554 meters about 1817 feet above the sea level. Kathgodam Railway Station has situated in Kathgodam for the tourists coming to Nanital.

Hanuman Garhi: Hanuman Garhi is situated at a distance of 21 km from Katgodam. This is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and built by Baba Neem Kiroli. This place is famous for stopover around Nainital. The place is one of the most popular sunset points in Uttarakhand.
Nakuchia Lake: Nakuchia lake is situated in Nanital just 26 km from Kathgodam. The lake is famous for having Nine corners.You can take walk around the lake to enjoy the beautiful natural setting and other you can go on Boating tour to explore the scenic surrounding.
Nanital Zoo: The zoo is located in a hill named as Sher Ka Danda. This zoo is known as Bharat Ratan Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo with an average elevation of 2000 meters. You can see here hill fox, Ghoral Siberian Tiger, Sambhar Deer, Leopard, wolf, himalayan Black Bear etc.
Kathgodam Railway Station: Kathgodam Railway Station is nearest railhead that is connected Nanital District and another major destination of Uttarakhand.
Gaula River: Gaula River is orginates in the sattal lake of Kathgodam. It is flows through kathgodam town. The river is visited on the way to Nanital.
