Joshimath is a small town and located in chamoli district of Uttarakhannd. It is one of the most interesting places in the inner Himalayan range. There are many religious sites that are located in the town. The town is also known as nickname as jyotirmath. Joshimath is the winter home of Shri Badrinath ji. The place is popular as a hill station and located at an elevation of 1890 meters above the sea level.
Joshimath is offered view of Hathi Parvat and Other Himalayan Peaks. you can see here confluence of two mighty river the Alaknanada and Dhauliganga at Vishnuprayag. Every Year thousand of Devotees visit at joshimath to see the 8th century Jyotirmath and the sri Adi Guru Shankaracharya monastery.
The most attraction of the town is Kalpvriksha, it is a mulberry tree and the oldest tree of India. It is believed that the Tree is about 1200 years old and the tree is evergreen throughtout the year. The Narsing Temple is also popular among the Devotees. Lord Vishnu situated here in the form of (Narsimha Avtar) Half Man and half Loin. The Nanda Devi National park is also another tourist attraction in Joshimath. During the winter season Joshimath is become the home of Lord Badri and the idol is brought down from Badrinath to Vasudeva Temple at Joshimath. Joshimath is the winter home of Sri Badrinath Ji and major winter travel Destination.
Joshimath is also provide the good trekking route like the famous Valley of Flower trek starts at Govindghat which is only 26 kms from Joshimath. Summer Season: The summer season starts from April to till june in Joshimath The minimum temprature is 32 degree. During the summer season the weather is pleasent. Summer is the best time to visit in Joshimath.
Winter Season: December is the starting month and till the month of February. You can see snowfalls during the winter season. The temprature is fall down sub-zero and maximum is 8 degree during the winter season.

Shri Shankracharya Math: Shri Shankracharya math is located in Joshimath and established by Adi Guru Shankracharya. A Lakshmi Narayan Temple is situated near by the Shri Shankaracharya math and idol of Badrinarayan and Rajrajeshwar Devi is beautifully located inside the temple. Jyoteshwar mahadev Temple and a 1200 years old tree "Kalpavriksha" is also best place in Joshimath.
Narsingh Temple: Narsingh Temple is located in the lower market of joshimath. It is a holy shrine dedicated to the Narsimha Avtar taken by hindu Lord Vishnu. The idol of Badrinath temple is put along with the idol of lord vishnu in Narsingh Avatar. This is the fact the temple of Narsingh is winter home of Shri Badrinath ji. Thus Narsingh Temple is a significant place in Joshimath.
Nanda Devi National Park: Nanda Devi National park is a national park present rich flora and fauna of Uttarakhand. The National park is a place for trekking. This park is established in 1982. Nanda Devi National park is a great place to be see. Situated at a distance of 17.3 km from Joshimath and also become a world heritage site in 1988. The park is open in the month of May and close on last October.
Auli Ropeway: This is an other prime attraction of the town. This is the longest ropeway in Asia towards Auli. Auli cable car covered a distance of 4 kms. Chenap Valley: situated at a distance of 28 km from Joshimath with at an elevation of 13000 ft above the sea level. Chenap Valley is on eof the hidden gems located in Chamoli District. The valley is offered amozing viwe of the snow capped peaks of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Dronagiri Peak.
Chenab Lake: Chenab is a small clear crystal water river situated at a distance of 28km from Joshimath. One can reach the lake to pass through the last village of Joshimath, Dang Village. Surrounding by Lush Green Forest of Oak and Deodar. One can reach only by the trekking due to bad road condition.
Vishnuprayag: Vishnuprayag is the one of the Panchprayag, located at an elevation of 1372 mts above the sea level. Situated at a distance of 14.3 km from Joshimath in the chamoli District. The Lord Vishnu temple is located about 2 km away from Vishnuprayag but it is believed that this is the place where the Lord Vishnu blessed Narada. Throughtout the year the Devotees visit the place but the ideal time from February to May and August to October.
Thaing Village: Situated at a distance of 8 km from Vishnuprayag, a small village located in Chamoli District. Surrounding by the beautiful mountains valleys,Oak and Deodar Froest, Travlers come here to see the natural beauty. The valley is offered trekking route and situated just 28 km from Joshimath.
Kalpavriksha: Kalpavriksha is an old Mulberry Tree and it is believed that the tree is about 1200 year old. This tree is remain evergreen throughout the year and never shed a single leaf by itself. An Oldest Tree in India and it is believed that Adi Guru Shankrcharaya sat under the tree and worshiped the Lord Shiva. The Shivlinga installed by Shankracharya has now covered and Jyoteshwar Mahadev Temple of Lord Shiva is built under the kalpvriksha.
Bhavishya Badri: Located at an elevation of 2744 mts above the sea level and situated at a distance of 17 km from Joshimath. This small temple diety is lord Vishnu and known to be the future seat of Badrinath.
Tapovan: Situated at a distance of 14 km from Joshimath and also a popular tourist attraction due to its hot spring. Hot water spring is the major attraction of tapovan.
Sleeping Beauty Mountain: This place is a heaven for a person who loved the Himalayans. After watching this mountain you can find a view of a lady wit open Hairs laying at the top of the peak. One can see here excllent natural beatuy with fresh air, long Walk, Treks and picturesque location.
Garhi Bhawani Temple: It is a beautiful temple situated at a distance of 6 km from Joshimath towords the Rishikesh.
Mana: Mana is last village of india and close to Tibet border. Situated at a distance of 3 km from Badrinath and 50 km from Joshimath. Valley of Flowers: Valley of Flower is declared as a national park in 1982 and the entire valley is covered with blooming flowers in the month of June to October. The valley is spread an area of 87.50 sq kms and nestled in the west Himalayan. Situated at a distance of 16 km from Govindghat and also listed as a world Heritage site in 1988. The entire valley is changed into a white sheet of Snow During the winter season.
Hemkund Sahib: Most religious shrine of Sikhs community and 10th Guru of Sikhs "Guru Govind Singh ji" was mediated at Hemkund Sahib. Situated at a distance of 19 km from Govindghat with at an elevation of 4329 mts above the sea level. The meaning of Hemkund is "lake of snow" and the water of the lake is cold as snow and the Snow capped peaks are called Hemkund Parvat. A beautiful star shaped Gurudwara is situated near the lake and visited by thousand of Devotees every year. A Temple of Lord Rama's younger brother is situated near the lake and dedicated to Lakshman.
Badrinath: Most sacred shrine of Lord Vishnu and holds an importance among the Hindu Devotees. Badrinath is the part of CharDham Yatra, situated at a distance of 46 km from Joshimath with at an elevation of 3133 mts above the sea level. Adi Guru Shankracharya was established this shrine in 9th century and lies on the right bank of Alaknanda River. Every year thousand of Devotees visit the temple from May to October. The Temple is remain close During the winter season due to Heavy snowfall.
Chopta: Situated at a distance of 92 km from Joshimath and popularly known as the "Mini Switzerland of India". Tungnath is the highest temple of Lord Shiva situated at 3.5 km from Chopta. The number of Tourist are increased in recent years Due to its cool climate and become a popular vacation spot for Adventure lovers. During the winter season Chopta looks like a white sheet oF blanket.
