Mukhba Village: Mukhba village is situated 1km from Harsil. Due to heavy snowfall Mukhba becomes a home of Goddess Gangotri. During the winter season the temple is close of Gangotri and Devotees worship at Mukhba village when the doors are close. Mukhba is a major pilgrimage destination and become winter chardham.

Dharali: Dharali is a small town located an altitude of 648m above the sea level. Dharali is a beautiful place and famous for its apple orchards and Rajma cultivation. The pine and deodars tree make the village turists attraction spot . Dharali is well conected by road with Harsil. Harsil is the nearest place to Dharali. This is believe that Bagirath mediated at this plce to bring the ganga into the earth.

Sattal: sattal is the group of seven fresh water lakes are Panna, Ram, Sita, Kakshman, Bhara, Sukha and Naldaymanti Tal. This is situated in Kumaon Region at an elevation of 1370m above the sea level. Sattal is located a few kilometres from Harsil and take an easy trek of 3 kms from Dharali.

Wilson Cottage: The cottage was built by Mr. Wilson in 1864 for his wife. Wilson introduced the villagers to the apple cultivation and built a 350ft long bridge over Jadganga. Local people used to call "Pahari Wilson". In this cottage you can found some photograpes of wilson and his wife Gulabi.

Gangnani: Gangnani is a small town situated 46 km from Uttarkashi and 26 km from Harsil. Gangnanai is an ideal place for meditation, seeking peace of mind. The place is famous for its thermal water spring and this thermal water is callde Rishikund.

Gangotri: Gangotri is the main temple of Goddess Ganga and situated at an elevation of 3,048mts above the sea level. Gangotri temple is situated at a distance of 21 km from Harsil. This place has an important place among the hindu Devotees. The temple is close during the winter season and remain open in the month of May.

Kedar Tal: To reach kedar tal take an easy trek of 14 km from Gangotri. Kedar tal is famous for its crystal clear ice cold water and Snow capped Himalayan Peaks. The tal is located at an elevation 4225mts above the sea level.

Uttarakshi: Situated at a distance of 72 km from Harsil with at an elevation of 1352 mts above the sea level. It is situated on the bank of holy River Bhagirathi and it is home of the most reputed mountaineering institutes of india "Nehru Institute of Mountaineering". Uttarkashi is the picturesque location well connected with motorable road.

Gaumukh Glacier: The main source of water of Bhagirathi River is Gaumukh Glacier which is known as Ganga before the confluence With Alaknanda River at Devprayag. It is situated at a distance of 18 kms from Gangotri and can be reached by a easy trek . Gaumukh is the second largest glacier of India and 30 kms long and approx 3 to 4 km wide.
