Gwaldam is a small and beautiful town and hill station located in between of Garhwal and Kumaon Region. The town is surrounding by forest and small lakes. It is situated at an elevation of 1700 meters above the sea level.
The town is famous for its pine forest and apple orchard. The location is offered magical views of Nanda Devi, Trishuli and Nanda Ghuti. Gwalgam is a hill station located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The entire area is full of most beautiful orchard upto Talwari.
The famous Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra is go through Gwaldam and take trek of the place Roop kund lake. Gwaldam is 22 km away from Baijnath. This place is the unlimited destination for relexing and rejuvenation. There is a trekking route in Gwaldan to Roopkund. According to the legend it is believed that Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati were married here.
It is situated just 38 kms away from the famous hill station of Kumaon. Gwaldam is the base camp of the trekking route to roopkund lake. Kuari pass and Nanda Devi Yatra which takes one amidst scintillating natural Beauty in the form of Waterfalls. One can explore the Beautiful village learn about their rustic way of life.
Every 12 year A religious yatra Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatar is starts from here. This place is pleasent climate. March to june is the perfact time for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
Summer Season: March to June is the summer season in Gwaldam. The Maximum temprature is 21 degree during the summer season. All around the year wather is pleasant here. Summer season is the best time to visit gwaldam.
Winter Season: November is the beginning month of winter to till month of February. Winter is cool here with the maximum temprature is 10 degree celsius and minimum is 7 degree. You need to carry heavy woolen clothes during the winter season.
Monsoon Season: July is the beginning month of monsoon here and till the September month. `During the season Gwaldam is received rainfall and rain bring freshness and greenery.
Angora Farm: Angora Farm is a kilometers from Gwaldam. This Ashram is established in 1987 and has five Shila and houses of 170 goats. Diuring the day the animal are taken to graze in near by meadows.
Badhangarhi: Badhangarhi temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and Lord Shiva. It is located at an elevation of 2260 meters above the sea level. This temple is located at a distance of 8 km from Gwaldam. One can get panoramic view of Nanda Devi, Trishul and panchchauli peak.
Bageshwar: Bageshwar is situated at a distance of 34 km from Gwaldam and located at the confluence of Surya and Gomti River. The place Bageshwar is famous for the temple of Bagnath. Thousand of Devotees can visit here every year. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva.
Baijnath: Baijnath is famous temple dedicated to Maa Parvati. This temple is situated at a distance of 22 km from Gwaldam. Baijnath temple is lies on the bank of Gomti River. In this temple the main attraction is the black stone idol of parvati.
Buddhist Khamba Temple: Buddhist Khamba Temple is located at a distance of 1.5 km from Gwaldam. The sanctum sanctorum is lined with Statues of various incarnation of Gautam Buddha that are intricately.
Gwalnaag: It is situated 3 km from Gwaldam. Gwalnaag is located on the Dhalua Meadow. This is the ideal Place for skiing of 2 km here. This valley looks like a diamond bowl.
Adi Badri: Adi Badri is situated at a distance of 17 km from Karnaprayag. There are a group of sixteen temples. Narayan Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and this temple is known as the Adi Badri. It is believed that Adi Guru Sankracharya had constructed this temple. In the temple a black stone idol is located here.
Macchi Tal: Macchi Tal is located at a distance of 9 km from Gwaldam on the road to Debal. It is a fish production farm by the state Government. This lake is surrounding by thick forest make it a lovely picnic spot for tourist.
Kausani: It is one of the most popular hill stataion and famous destination among the tourist. It is located at an elevation of 1890 km above the see level and situatedat a distance of 38 km from Gwaldam. A famous hindi poet Sumitra Nandan Pant was born in Kusani.
Karnaprayag: Situated at a distance of 68 km from Gwaldam with at an elevation of 788 mts above the sea level. karnaprayag is one of the five Confluences of Alaknanda River. An ancient temple is located in Karnaprayag dedicated to Lord Karna of Mahabharat. The place is located on the road to Badrinath.
Chaukori: Situated at an elevation of 2010 mts above the sea level. Surrounding with Fruit Orchard, tall pine, Oak and Rhododendron trees are a commone sight at Chaukori.
Bedni Bugyal-Roopkund: Mundoli is a village where the famous trek to Bedni Bugyal and Roopkund are starts. Bedni Bugyal is a medow of luish green grass and Roopkund is the lake. The trek of these places are considered to be one of the most adventures trek of Uttarakhand. Snow capped Himalayan peak are always visible during the trek.
Baijnath: Baijnath is a famous temple dedicated to Goddess Kali and lies on the bank of Gomti in the Guruda Valley. The main attraction of the temple is the black stone idol of Goddess parvati at the main Entrance. Kali temple is located 8 km from Baijnath known as kot-ka-mai.
Bageshwar: Bageshwar is drives its name from Bagnath Temple and situated at a distance of 34 kms from Gwaldam at the confluence of Surya and Gomti Rivers. Bagnath Attracts the thousand of Devotees from all over the india. It is believed that lord Shiva is wandered here as a tiger. A famous fair Uttarayani is held every year in January in Bageshwar.
