Govindghat is a small town located in chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. Govindghat is starting point of the trek to Hemkund Sahib and the Vally of Folwers. The town is located on the way to Badrinath and situated at the confluence of Alaknanada and Lakshman Ganga River. Gaurikund is located at an altitude of 1800 meters above the sea level and 22 km from Joshimath on National Highway.
Govindghat is a place where the many hotels, resturants, resorts and lodges are available. The place is providing good facilities of Accommodation. Gaurikund has a famous Gurudwara ( Hemkund Sahib ). The Gurudwara is located right side of River Alakhnanda. The Valley of flower is a beautyful place to enjoy the beauty of numerous flower. Winter Season: The month of November is starting month of winter here and till the month of February. winter are extremely cool during the season. The maximum temprature is 20 degree and minimum is 0 degree.
Monsoon Season: During the monsoon season you can enjoy the rainfalls in the month of August to till October. The Rainbring freshness and greenery to the place.
Trekking: Govindghat is the starting point of many treks in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. You can reach most famous Valley of Flowers by trekking from Govindghat. The most religious Hemkund Sahib also starts trek from Govindghat.

Hemkund Sahib: Govindghat is famous for The Hemkund Sahib. This is believe that Guru Govind singh the tenth guru of sikhs is meditation here. Hemkund sahib is located at an elevationof 4329 mts above the sea level. The star shaped gurudwara located near the lake. Hemkund Sahib is visited by thousand devotees every month. A temple is located nera the Hemkund Sahib and dedicated to Lakshman brother of Lord Rama. A beautiful lake is situated near the Gurudwara.
Valley of Flowers: Valley of flower National park is situated in the west Himalayas of Uttarakhand State and covering an area of 87.50 sqkm. The Valley is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flower and the Varitey of flora and fauna. This valley is declared as the national national park in the year 1982 and now it make a UNESCO world Heritageb site. The valley is house of more than 500 species of wild flowers. Best place for nature lover.
Ghangharia: Ghangharia is situated on the way to Hemkund Sahib and Valley of flowers. Ghangharia is a scenic hamlet with an altitude of 3050 mts above the sea level. It is located at a distance of 13 km from Govindghat. Ghangharia received heavy snowfall during the winter season.
Gaurikund: Gaurikund is the end point of road to reach Kedarnath Temple, you can take an easy treak of 16 km from Gaurikund to kedarnath temple. Gaurikund temple is dedicated to wife of lord shiva Goddess parvati. It is believe that Goddess parvati is take bath in Gaurikund and meditation here. Gaurikund is the place where the Lord shiva decided to get Marry with Parvati.
Vasudhara Falls: Vasudhara falls situated near the Badrinath. It is located at a distance of 9 km from Badrinath to Vasudhara falls. This falls offered a glorious view of fall and surrouding.
Mana: Mana is very close to Tibet Border. Most of the tourist who visit badrinath also come to see the end of the road at Mana. The village Mana is situated 24 km from Govindghat and 3 km from Badrinath. It is the last village of India. Vyas Gufa, Bheem Pul and Ganesh Gufa are the other attraction in Mana.
Joshimath: Joshimath is the winter home of Badrinath and Eastablished by Adi Shankaracharya. Joshimath is connected with Auli by longest cable car of Asia. It is situated at an elevation of 1890 mts above the sea level. It is one of the fourth muth. situated at a distance of 26 kms from Govindghat and Narsing Temple and Kalpavraksha is the an other attraction of Joshimath.
Auli: Situated at a distance of 40 km From Govindghat and is the most popular skiing destination of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an elevation off 3050 mts above the sea level. Auli is most popular skiing destination among the tourists. Asia's longest and highest cable car is situated in Auli and well connected to Joshimath. Every year Auli is organised a winter sports for Adventure lover and well connected to motorable road.
Badrinath: The temple is established by Adi Guru Shankaracharaya in 9th century. Badrinath temple is hold the importance among the Hindu pilgrims and dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Situated at a distance of 21 km from Govindghat with at an elevation of 3133 mts above the sea level. The sacred temple is lies on the bank of Alaknanda River. A black colour stone image of Lord Vishnu was established in the temple. The temple is remain close during the winter Season because of Heavy snowfall and palki of Sri Badrinath ji is transfered in Joshimath.
