Ghangaria is a small village on the way of Hemkund Sahib and valley of flowers, situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. Ghangaria is a popular pilgrimage site for sikhs. It is a scenic halmet located at an altitude of 3050 mts above the sea level.
Ghangaria is located at the confluence of Pushpawati and Hemhanga River. Ghangaria is situated about 6 km from Hemkund sahib and 3 km from valley of flowers with an altitudeof 3049 meters above the sea levele. To be reach Ghangaria to take an easy trek of less than 11km.
Ghangaria can be reached After an easy trek of 13 km from GovindGhat. The region is received Heavy snowfall during the winter season and the region is closed from December To till April. Gurudwara, GMVN rest houses and a few private hotels are provide accommodation facility at Gahangaria.
It is also famous for trekking, camping and Adventure Activities.
Summer Season: Summer are moderately hot during the summer season. The month of April to July is summer month. The minimum temprature is 15 degree and maximum is reach 30 degree. Nights are cool during the season.
Winter Season: The month of November is the begning of winter season and till the month of Febraury. Winters are extremly cool here during the season. The maximum temprature is 20 degree and minimum is fall down to chilling 0 degree.
Monsoon Season: Monsoon starts here from the month of August to till September. The rainfall vring freshness and greenery to the place.
Hemkund Sahib: Hemkund Sahib is the religious site of sikhs and it is believed that Guru Govind Singh is mediated at this place, He was tenth guru of Sikhs. Hemkund sahib is known as the "Lake of Snow" and the immaculate water of this lake is cold as snow. It is located at an elevation of 4329 mts above the sea level with the snow capped peaks which are called Hemkund Parvat. A star shaped Gurudwara located near the lake and thousands of Devotees are visit every Year. Lakshman temple is located near the Gurudwara dedicated to Lord Rama's Brother "Lakshman". One can compleate the trek of 6 kms from Ghangaria to reach Hemkund Sahib. July to till November is the best time to visit the Hemkund Sahib.
Govindghat: Govindghat is a town located in chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Govindghat is last point to reach Ghangari and you can take an easy teak of 13 km to reach Ghangaria from Govindghat. It is starting point of trekking towords Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers. Situated at a distance of 26 km from Joshimath and 21 kms from Badrinath with at an elevation of 6000 ft above the sea level.
Valley of Flowers: Valley of Flowers National park is located in west Himalayan and spread at an area of 87.50 sqkm. Situated at a distance of 4 kms from Ghangaria and declared as a National park in 1982. Now it is the UNESCO world heritage site. It known its meadows and various varitey of flowers and flora and fauna. The valley is covered with biooming flowers in the month of June to October and also covered with snow White sheet Guring the winter Season. Valley of Flowers is the home of over 500 species of wild Flowers.
Lakshman Temple: The Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama's Brother "Lakshman" and located on the bank of Hemkund Lake. This temple is known as Lokapal temple among the Hindus. It is belived that Brother of Lord Rama is Maditated Here after the battel with Ravan's son Meghnath.
Bedini Bugyal: This is a himalayan Alpine medaws. It is located at an altitude of 3354 meter in chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India. Bedini baugyal falls on the way tp Roopkund near Wan Village.
Badrinath: The most popular pilgrimage site in india, situated at a distance of 21 km from Govindghat with at an elevation of 3133 mts above the sea level. Guru Adi Shankracharaya Established the shrine in 9th century and dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is situated on the right bank of Holy Alaknanda River. Millions of Tourist and Devotees visit the Badrinath tenple Throughtout the year from the month of May to till October. The Temple is closed during the Winter sesaon due to Heavy rainfall.
Mana: one of the last villages of india and very close to Tibet border. Situated at a distance of 24 kms from Govindghat and 3 kms from Badrinath. most of the Devotees who visit the Badrinath temple they are also come to see the end of the road at Mana. The other attraction of the place are Bheem Pul, Vyas Gufa and Ganesh Gufa are the interesting places to visit at Mana.
Joshimath: Home of Shri Badrinath Ji during the winter season. It is the fourth math and established by Adi Guru Shankracharaya. Joshimath is well connected with Auli by long Cable car. This cable car is the Asia's longest and heighest cable car connect with auli and Joshinath. It is situated at a distance of 26 km from Govindghat with at an elevation of 1890 mts above the sea level. The other attraction are Kalpavriksha and Narsingh Tempel while a visit to Joshimath.
Auli: Auli is the most popular skiing destination of Uttarakhand. Situated at a distance of 40 kms from Govindghat with at an elevation of 3050 mts above the sea level. It present the glorious and amazing views of Snow capped peaks of Himalayan. Asia's heighest and longest cable car are situated in Auli and well connect with Joshimath. Auli is organised the winter sports every year during the winter season and well connected to the motorable road.
