About Dharchula
Dharchula is a hill station in Pithoraghar district of the uttarakhand state. The town is situated at an elevation of 915 meters above the sea level. It is a small remort place boundid by the kumaon region mountain and High peaks. The place is famous for its natural beauty and lies on the way of Kailash Mansarover. Dharchula is situated on the banks of River Kali on indo -Nepal Border. The town is surrounding by hills all around the sides. The town has few places for tourist attraction are Narayan Ashram, Mansarover Lake, Chikrila Dam, Kali River and om parvat. The Narayan Ashram is located around 98km from the Dharchula. The Mansarover Lake is a pilgrim center devotees came here to take a holy dip in the lake. Kumaoni and Datiyali language are spoken here. The best time to visit the place is March and June and again September to December. The Oak, pine, apple, and deodar are found here to the surounding. Animals like leopard, Bears, Foxes, monkeys and deer are found here. You can enjoy the panoramic view of the mighty Panchchauli peak located to the west of Dhaechula.

Summer Season: March is the beginning month of summer and till the month of june. The maximum temprature is 45 degree and minimum is 30 degree. During the summer season the wather is not so cool even wather condation is extreame.
Winter Season: December is the starting month of winter to till the month of february. The maximum temprature is 8 degree and minimum temprature is 5 degree.
Monsoon Season: July is the starting month of monsoon to till the month of September. Monsoon season is the good time to visit in Dharchula. Rain bring freshness and greenery to the town.
Places to See in Dharchula
Jauljibi: This is a beautiful place situated at a distance of 23 km from Dharchula. The place is situated on the two river are Gori River and Kali River. A fair is held here in the month of November.
Kali River: It is a majestic river located in uttarakhand state. Kali River is the major attraction for tourist with height of 3600 meters. This area also a small shrine dedicated to Goddess Kali.
Om Parvat: Om Parvat is known as Adi Kailash, Chota kailash, Little kailash, Baba kailash. Adi Kailash is take an important place among the Hindus. The Om Parvat is currentely on the indo Nepal border.
Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary: Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary was established in 1986 to protect the endangered Musk Deer. This sanctuary located at an elevation of 1600 meters above the sea level. The sanctuary is spread an area of 600 sq km.
Narayan Ashram: Narayan Ashram is an important to the people in all around the town. It is located at a distance of 44 km from Dharchula. Meditation room and library are also available here. The place is situated at an altitude of 2734 m above the sea level. The place is surrounding by rich flora.
Chirkila Dam: It is situated at a distance of 20 km from Dharchula. It is a beautiful dam located in Kali River. The dam is provided water sports facalities by the state Government.
