Jim corbett National park was established in 1936 By the name of Hailey National park and one of the oldest national park in India. After independance the park was named as Ramnagar National Park but in 1956 It was renamed after Jim Corbett- He was the great hunter who played a major role in the establishment of the National Park. The National park is popular for the Royal Bengal Tiger present in the sanctuary. The area came under project tiger in 1971.
This park is a home of various animals but famous for "The Royal Bengal Tiger". It is being a honored the place where the project Tiger was first launched in 1973. The unique tiger territory is the best place to gave birth of the project tiger in India to protect the most endangered species and the Royal of India Called Tigers.
The park is spread over an area of 520 sqkm and corbett national park has been divided into five different zones to make easy the visit. Sal, Haldu, peepal, rohini and mango tree are found in national park and the 73% of the area is under the National park and 10% area is consists grassland. The temprature of park is lies in between 5 to 40 degree celcius and received Light rainfall during the dry season. The temprature of the National park is not above the 40 Degree.
Jim Corbett National Park is very Rich in Flora and Fauna. The park offered 488 different species of plants and wide variety of the wild life including Tigers, Elephants, Chital, Sambar, Deer, Nilgai, gharial, King Kobra, Wild Boar, Hedgehoge, commin Musk Shrew, Flying fox, Indian Pangolin, and around 600 species of Birds are Found here.
This park is one of the best managed and protected areas in the countery and attract thousand of tourist not noly India, Foreign are also visit the park each year. There are four main gates are Amdanda Gate, Dhangarhi Gate, Khara Gate and Durga Devi Gate, which acts as entrance to the park.
Get it name after the great auther, Wildlife Conservationist and scholar "Jim Corbett". He spend a major part of his life studying tigers in the Forests of Uttaranchal India. It is a ideal National park for thrilling adventure wildlife tours.

It is always advisable to book safaris before to Arrival, Especially During the Weekends. There are only 60 vehicles allowed inside the corbett National Park at same time. The estimated cost of safari vehicles willl be between Rs 2600 to Rs 4000 (Depends on the Number of Guests).
Please keep in mind there is no Petrol Pump beyond Ramnagar. Driving is not allowed in the park and gates are closed at evening. Jim Corbett National Park is a Tiger reserve, Not a zoo, Animals are moved freely inside the park.
Summer Season: Summer starts from March to mid of june. During the summer season the temprature is quite high but not rise upto 40 degree.
Winter Season: October to february is the winter season and winter take place during the months. During the season you can find the beautiful birds, Bengal tiger. The temprature at night of this park is down upto 5 dehree. The days are quite but nights are cold.
Monsoon Season: Though the monsoon season is not time for visitors to come over jim Corbett. During the season the animal enjoy the mating time. During the season beauty of the park is exotic and amazing greenery.
Garjia Temple: The temple is situated at a distance of 14 km from Ramnagar city on the way to Ranikhet and one of the Famous Shakti peeth. The temple is contain huge rock that is placed on river Kosi. Devotees can reach temple aftre climbing the many stairs. Garjiya temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati. On the day of Kartik Poornima a big fair is organised here.
Corbett water fall: The fall situated at a distance about 25 km from Ramnagar. The fall is the best picnic spot for groups visiting Corbett National Park. You can enjoy swimming and can refresh all the senses of the body.
Corbett Museum: Located Near the Corbett national park and also a Heritage Museum. It is just more than a museum near Kaladhungi, Historians, Hertage and Wildlife lovers take a must visit to this special museum.
Dhangadi Gate: Located at a distance of 20 km from Ramnagar at Ranikhet Road. It is the major entry gate for visitors going to Dhikala Range Of Corbett. Entery from Dhangadi Gate is only Provided for Visitors Having permit for night stay in the ERH'S of Corbett National Park.
Amanda Gate Corbett: The main entry Gate of Bijrani Range of Corbett National park, Tourist can reach much more diverse vegitation region of Corbett National park. Located at a distance of just 3 km from Ramnagar. Ananda Gate is also be used to reach Bijrani and Malani Forest Rest House.
Ramnagar: Ramnagar is situated in the Nainital District of Kumaon region. lies on the bank of Kosi river and known as Gateway of Kumaon. Situated at an elevation of 345 mts above the sea level. The town was established by Commissioner H.Ramsay in 1856. Ramnagar is the main Administrative centre for Corbett.
Jhirna Zone: Jhirna forest is wooden and Grassland Habitat site. This is excellent bird viewing point. This the home for sloth bear, wild elephants and growing tiger, nilgai, cheeta, sambhar and wild boar makes it an attractive point also the big cats, wild elephant and sloth bear population offer great opportunities.
Bijrani Zone: These forests range from of Pure sal on the upper reaches and mixed forests in the valley, along with three major grasslands. variety of herbivores and wide network of jungle roads making Bijrani excellent tiger sighting territory. Excellent water availability throughtout the year and wide grassland make ie an exceptional habital for a strong prey base and its predator. On Corbett's eastern boundary, Bijrani forest are dense with a wide varity of Vegetation.
Dhikala Zone: This is the largest and most varied zone. Dhikala is offering the best pooprtunities for overnight stays. Gharial and Maggars, as well as the great Mahaseer inhabit the rivers below. Hog deer is also exclusive to Dhikala. Dhikala offered the most varied terrain in all. This block of forest has the Ramnagar river stretch through its middle, emptying into a wide, Multiple -necked reservoir.
Durga Devi Zone: This is famous for bird watching and fishing. Mahasheer is a large fish species found in Durga Devi eorest. North east part of pakr are found birds species like maroon orile, great headed fishing eagle. Mandal and Ramnagar river in this forset attracts Wild elephants, leopards and tigers. It is situated on the north east corner of Corbett park.
Sonanadi Zone: Sonanadi range is famous for wildlife beauty with amazing flora and fauna. 550 Species of birds are and othe leopard , tiger, cheetal, sambhar, raptiles are found here. It is situated at the center range in the Corbet National park.
Nainital: Situated at a distance of 66 km from Jim corbett national park at an elevation of 1938 mts above the sea level. Nainital is a beautiful hill station offered glorious and amazing views of surrounding Himalayan Range and thick dense forest. Nainital is known "The queen Lakes" and famous for its natural beauty. Nainital has a group of five lakes and Naini Lake is one of the main attraction in Nainital.
