Chaukori is a dreem weekend getaway from Nainital. Chaukori is a hill station bounded by beautiful lagoons, snow-covered peaks of mountains and dense forest. The valley situated in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state. The dreamy village is tucked at an elevation of 2010 meters above sea level. Chaukori is one of the few place sin Kumaon region where you will find tea gardens. These tea gardens were established by the British during the pre- independence period. The charming little town of Chaukori is unlike any other hill station you have seen. Chaukori is a peaceful hamlet in Pithoragarh district of the Kumaon Hills of Uttrakhand.
The Average population of Chaukori is 1163 with male 672 and 491 are females. Chaukori litrecracy rate is low as per compaire of Uttrakhand state. The place is a land best owed with natural abundance, Fruit orchards and the forest of pine and Oaks trees.

Summer Season: The summer season starts from April to till June. During the summer season the maximum temprature is 25 degree and minimum temprature is 17 degree. Summer season is the best time to visit Chaukori. Summer season with pleasent wather is the idol time for sightseeing.
Winter Season: Winters are extremely cold and beginning with the month of October and till the month of February. The minimum temprature is 2 degree and maximum temprature is 10 degree. You can take winter colthes during the trip in Winter season in Chaukori.
Monsoon Season: During the monsoon season Chaukori is geting heavy rainfall in the month of july to till september. The rains bring freshness and greenery to the place.
Mahakali Temple: Mahakali temple is an ancient temple which is known as Haat Kalika Mandir. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati in form of Mahakali. This temple is known as a shakti peeth and the temple is chosen by Shankracharya.
Jayanti Temple Dhwaj: Jayanti temple Dhwaj is situated on the way of Didihat road on a hilltop. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva Travellers can also see the peaks of Panchachuli and Nanda devi from this temple.
Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple: Kapileshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and situated in the soar Valley. This temple can be reached by walking for about 10 minuts inside the cave.
Nagmandir: Nagmandir is situated amidst a cluster of trees and known as house of Sheshnag and Lord Vishnu.
Patal Bhuvaneshwar: Patal bhuvaneshwar is Shrine of Lord Shiva and the temple situated at a distance off 20km from Chaukori. You can see many rocks having various shapes and figures which resembles many gods and goddesses. This temple is alos said to be abode of thousands of gods.
Nakuleshwar Temple: This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is thought to be the Himalaya and ishwar. The sanctuary houses around 38 stone pictures of Uma -Vasudev, Surya, Navdurga, Shiva-Parvati, Vaman etc.
Tripura Devi Temple: Tripura Devi temple is situated in Ancient Udaipur nad located at a distance of 55 km from Agartala. Thetemple is one of 51 shakti Peethas. It is believe that that sati's right foot fell here during lord Shiv's Dance.
Didihat: Situated at a distance of 31 km from Chaukori with at an everage elevation of 1725 mts above the sea level. Located in the pithoraghar District and under the region of Raika Malla Kings of Nepal. Didihat is a cahrming place is rich in flora and fauna. It lies on the route of Kailash Mansarover.
Bageshwar: The Bageshwar get its name from the famous srine Bagnath Temple and located at a distance of 502 km from the state capital Dehradun and 47 km from Chaukori with an elevation of 1004 mts above the level. The place is famous for its several river and temples. Uttarayani Fair is held every year in the month of January here. It is believed that Lord Shiva is eandered here as a tiger in Bageshwar.
Kausani: One of the beautifull hill station and located at a distance of 79 kms from Chaukori with at an average elevation of 1890 meters above the sea level. The town is surrounding by thick pine forest and several snow capped peaks. The Mahatma gandhi is describe Kausani as "The Switzerland of india". Kausani is surrounding by a thick cover of pine tree and provide a panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
Munsiyari: located at an height of 2300 m above the sea level. It is famous hill station and covered with a thick layer of snow. Minsiyari is also known as the "Mini kashmir" and contain various varity of rish flora and fauna found here. Munsiyari is a newly discovered tourist town in the Pithoragarh district. You can experience high altitude trekking in Munsiyari. It is the base camp for Nanda Devi. It is the base camp of trekking to the Ralam, Milam and Namik Glaciers.
Baijnath: The beautiful Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. A black stone idol of Goddess parvati is situated here. built by the kumaon Katyuri King in 1150 AD. Situated at a distance of 21 km from Bageshwar. Take an important place in hindu religious.
Pindari Glacier: One of the most beautiful terak of the Himalayan and a popular glacier. It is situated between the snow capped Nanda Devi and Nanda kot Mountain.
Narayan Ashram: Establieshed by Narayan Swami in 1936 with at an elevation of 2734 mts above the sea level. It is located about 136 km north of pithoraghar and 14 km from Tawaghat.
Gangolihat: Situated at a distance of 35 km from Chaukori with at an average elevation of 1800 mts above the sea level. It is an important religious center of kumaon and An Ancient Temple is located here, dedicated to Goddess kali. The famous caves of Patal bhuvneshwar are located just 14 km from Gangolihat.
