The Bageshwar city get its name from the famous srine Bagnath Temple.Bageshwar is a city located in Bageshwar district in Uttarakhand state. The city is a headquarter of Bageshwaar district and located at a distance of 502 km from the state capital Dehradun. The city is famous for its natural beauty, Rivers, Glaciers and Temples.It is situated an average elevation of 1,004m above the sea level. Tree are found here -Chir, pine, Himalayan Cypress, Pindrow fir, Alder,sal, irom-wood,Limestone. Bageshwar place is a religious and historical place. The place is famous for its several river and temples. Bhileshwar mountaion situated on the east, Nileshwar mountain on west and Suraj Kund and Agni kund on north and south.The population of the place is around 9079 and literacy rate is 80% with 84% of the male and 76% of female literacy.
Summer Season: March to May is the summer season and the temprature noted that 27 degree to 35 degree. The place is a hill station and during the summer season the temperature is remain normal and pleasent fro sightseeing.
Monsoon Season: The Temperature of the city is lies between 22 degree to 30 degree celsius during the monsoon. Monsoon is start from August to till the month of September.
Winter Season: During the winter season the temprature falls down as low as 8 degree. Decembre to February are the freezing time in bageshwar to enjoy the beauti of the place. Don't forgets to carry warm clothes during the Winter season.
Bagnath Temple: Bagnath temple is dedicated to Bageshwar or Tiger Lord , who is considered as an avatar of Lord shiva at the confluence of Gomti and Surya River. The temple is attraction point of tourist in Bageshwar.The temple is constructed in 1450 CE by the king of Kumaon Laxmi chand. On the day of makar- Sankranti an annual grand mela is organised here.The temple is cluster of temples incliding that- Hanuman temple, Ganga mai temple, Kalika temple, Bhairav temple, Durga temple Dattatray maharaj, Vaneshwara temple.
Kanda: Kanda is a hill station full of meadows and popular for its sightseeing avtivities. It is situated around 23 km from Bageshwar. The place is famous for visiting mountain peaks of Himalayas and take part of trekking, camping, mountaining, and river rafting. Badrikali temple is nearby the place. Kanda offered a beautifull surrrounding view.
Chandika Temple: The temple situated about half km from Bageshwar and dedicated to Goddess Chandika maa also known as Kali.The temple is standing on the five feet rock inviting every Navratris.
Vijaypur: The place is a small hamlet known as Bijepur is famous for its lovely market and the tea garden. The tea garden is attraction of tourist. The place 30 km away from Bageshwar.
Baijnath: Baijnath is the hindu pilgrimage site. This is known for its ancient temples of Lord Shiva and magnificent idol of Goddess Parvati. Baijnath is lies on the bank of river Gomti. The an Other attraction is Kotkimai Tempel and situated at a distance of 8 km from Baijnath.
Vijaypur: vijaypur is abeautiful hill station located in Bageshwar District. It is just 30 km from Bageshwar. This hill station is famous for its glorious view of Snow capped mountains.
Pindari Glacier: Pindari Glacier is lies in Between The Nanda Devi and Nanda kot mountains. This is the world famous glacier situated in pindari valley. It is the most famous trekking point and easily Accessible. This glacier is 5 kms long 6 neters high and 2.5 meters wide.
Pindari Glacier Trek: Pindari Glacier Trek can be reach by Road from Bagaeshwar. The base camp of tyhe treak is at Song. It is just 36 km from Bageshwar and 109 km from Almora and 199 km from Kathgodam.
Suderdhunga Glacier: It is also located in Pindari region and known as The Valley of Beautiful stones. There is two Glacier for trekking -Maiktoli and Sukhram Glacier. The route is common both of the glacier.
