Roop Kund Trekking

In the lap of Trishuli massif, Roopkund is located at 5029m is also known as ‘Mystery Lake’. Chamoli district of garhwal, Roopkund is situated. In garhwal it is one of the excellent sites for trekking. At the bank of the lake you can find human skeletons and also find skeleton structures of horses and other animals. The challenges of high altitudes you will face here, the icy cold winds and zigzag trails. You will finally reach Bhagwabasa, passing through Kalu Vinayak. A Nanda Devi game reserve ranger is H K Madhwal who re-discovered the human skeletons in 1942. A total number of skeletons were found around 500.

Snow clad mountains and rock strewn glaciers are surrounded by the Lake. On your journey, you would come across the few Lakes and Temples you would also find many grazing lands for horses, mules and sheep. Before arriving in Ali Bugyal you come across little hilly villages. Above the sea level it is an alpine meadow at 10830feet. The starting trekking point for Roopkund is Lohajung. Has a special significance for Goddess Nanda is this lake. On the eight day you will complete your trek.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Kathgodam – Lohajung
You will travel through the hilly view routes in order to reach the destination from Kathgodam. Loharjung via bus or taxi you were proceed towards, after you arrive in Kathgodam.

Day 02: Loharjung – Didana
You will reach the spot called Ruan Bagad, after an easy walk for about 2.5 hours. Near the bus stand of the town begins your Roopkund trek. At Didna Village passes through mixed forests of oak and bamboo to arrive. Stay overnight in tents. You cross through the village of Kulling.

Day 03: Didana – Bedni Bugyal
After wake up early in the morning continue the Roopkund trekking and climbing to Ali Bugyal. You can take to reach your destinations there are two routes. Which offers as a fine campsite for overnight stay it is an easy trek to Bedni Bugyal from Ali Bugyal. Stay overnight in here.

Day 04: Bedni Bugyal – Bhagubasa
You will need to all necessary precautions to avoid altitude sickness to hiking up a zigzag path you will enter an area of high elevation. You reach the temple of Kalu Vinayak. Along the Roopkund trek, arrive at Gohra Lotani yet again the most fascinating of destinations.

Day 05: Bhagubasa – Roopkund – Patal Nauchaniya
Sure give you an andrenaline rush by climbing through rock gardens and occasional snow patches to reach the mystery lake. Later head back to Patal Nauchaniya and spend your some time here taking pictures of the glorious view. Stay overnight in tents.

Day 06: Bedni Bugyal – Lohajung

Day 07: Lohajung – Kathgodam
You will drive back to Kathgodam, after breakfast. Your trip is ends here.
