The village and local resident of Khati is a best opportunity to understand and experience the rural sights of Kumaon. It is situated in the Kumaon Himalayas in Uttarakhand and Kafni Glacier is the origin of Kafni river.
The route to Kafni Glacier snakes come across some steep uphill sections laid with stones and abolish into the thick wood till maneuvering to the gentle meadows. At Khati from Dhakuri trek gently climbs for the day, which is at 2,265 meters of an elevation. From Kafni leads the route downhill to Dwali and diverts to Wachum, which is 13 km approx. The route heads return to Loharkhet from Wachum and come across Dhakuri. The Pinder river is merges to Alaknanda river, which finally is one of the two headstreams of the Ganges.
Depending upon the route taken the glacier could be visited by both Kathgodam and Almora.
