Tipra Bamak Glacier Trek

One of the most visited glaciers is Tiprabamak in Uttarakhand. Bamak is the local name of Tipra Bamak glacier this is long glacier about 5 km of the Bhyundar Ganga basin in the Alaknanda catchment. Run in this basin almost 16 glaciers varying shapes and sizes, adjoining the Ratanban glaciers are of significance and out of Tiprabamak. From the single ice cave emerges the melted ice of the Ratanban glacier and Tiprabamak glacier at the snout of Tiprabamak.

Between 30°43’18″N and 79°39’54″E are coordinates the Tiprabamak glacier. By heavy deposits of debris surface of the glacier is dominated. Karnaprayag, Khatyari, Nainisain, Kausani and Kandara are the nearby cities of Tiprabamak Glacier. In mid of June to mid of October is the good time to visit this glacier.

How to Reach Tipra Bamak Glacier Trek

From Joshimath Badrinath this glacier trek is easily approachable, which you will take to Govind Ghat. The hikers must follow a bridle path of 18 km which runs via Bhiundhar village up to Ghangaria. At the foothills of the Kagbhusndi mountain ranges will lead you to the popular valley of flowers from there a 4 km trek.
