Sona Glacier Trek

This Himalayan glacier is situated in the eastern part in the Pithoragarh district of Uttrakhand of India. It is located in the Lassar Yankti Darma Valley at the base of five peaks of Panchachuli. It creates the popular Panchachuli glacier with Meola glacier as mixed glacial system. From east facing direction this glacier serves the route to climb Panchachuli peaks. As glacier trek across Bailing – Duktu – Tawaghat – Son after one can reach here. This glacier is situated north to Meola Glacier and just below peaks such as Panchchuli and Nagalphu. Sona Glacier is divided into two parts are upper and lower.

South west to north east is the direction of Sona Glacier and this is located on right hand side of Panchachuli massif.
