Meola Glacier Trek

This Himalayan glacier trek is situated in the eastern part (Pithoragarh district) of Uttrakhand of India. At the base of the five peaks of Panchachuli, Meola Glacier is situated in the Lassar Yankti valley. Meola Glacier is divided into two parts are upper and lower. This glacier merges with the Sona Glacier to shape the popular Panchachuli Glacier.

From Duktu Village along Duktu Nala the snout of the Meola is a one hour trek. The Meola’s snout is located at an elevation of 3,600 m. For Panchachuli expeditions Meola Glacier also serves as base camp. North to Meola Glacier is situated Sona Glacier. Both Glaciers Meola and Sona are serves as the trek to climb Panchachuli peaks from the east.
