It is one of the primary headstreams the river of Ganga, source of the Bhagirathi River and snout of the Gangotri Glacier. In the state of Uttarakhand, Gangotri is situated at 13,200ft in Uttarkashi district. It is famous destination for Hindu Pilgrims as well as trekking destination. Gangotri is the origin of Ganga River who comes here to witness the birth of mother Ganga. The trek to Gaumukh Glacier acts as the base camp is Gangotri. First one being Siachen, the second largest Glacierin India is Gaumukh with length of 30kms and width of 4kms.
The Himalayan Peaks visible are Sudarshan, Bhagirathi sisters, Meru, Shivling and more during this trek. Every time you visit here. One must take preparation to walk on foot because on the trail no horses are allowed. It Start from here to Tapovanan and Nandanvan. It is quite a challenging experience and within 2km a climb of around 1500 foot. ‘Gaumukh’ is like the mouth of cow.

Day 01: Arrive at Delhi
Arrive the Delhi Airport and then transfer to pre booked hotels, early morning. Stay overnight in hotels.
Day 02: Delhi – Haridwar – Rishikesh
Drive to Gangotri after breakfast in early morning. Visit the bank of Ganga River for the spectacular and moving Aarti in the evening. The Himalayas is flanked by the Shivalik Range. Drive towards Rishikesh and adventure tour guide. Rishikesh is known for its spiritual experience and its natural beauty. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Rishikesh – Uttarkashi
Along Bhagirathi Valleys and the narrow Ganga the drive takes one to Uttarkashi. The gateway many mountaineering and trekking expedition is Uttarkashi. In the region the principle town is Uttarkashi. The well equipped observatory with two telescopes and support for research many books are available in astronomy. The popular Vishwanath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva here. A unique Mahadev ka vishal Trishul or Shiva’s great Trident in front of the Temple, it made of eight major metals. With this Trident it is believed Lord Shiva killed Vakasur. Lord Parshuram, Lord Ekadash Rudra and Goddess Kali are dedicated to other temples. An important centre for adventure sports has also emerged as Uttarkashi. Stay overnight at hotels.
Day 04: Uttarkashi – Gangotri
Drive to reach Gangtori via Harsil by covering 95km approximately in 4-5 hours after breakfast in the morning. The Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa was the original constructor of the Temple. Every year people visit this Shrine from all around the world. According to Hindu Myths, the Goddess Ganga in Lord Shiva’s matted locks. Stay Overnight.
Day 05: Gangotri – Bhojwassa
Towards Bhojwassa via Chirvasa along a well trodden and well laid path along the picturesque Gangotri Valley the trek commences. Becomes totally desolate and barren but beyond this point the terrain. Bhojvasa has a lot of trees and the last oasis on this route. On Bhagirathi Peak’s group enjoy the excellent sunset and to explore the area afternoon free. Near river side we make our camp. Stay overnight in tents.
Day 06: Bhojwassa – Gaumaukh
Immediately, after that towards the source of Ganga trek to Gaumukh. While at breakfast, enjoy the glorious panoramic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks. The distant past, it appeared like a cow’s mouth that’s why sages called ‘Gaumukh’. Trek back to Bhojwassa for stay overnight to explore the area.
Day 07: Bhojwassa – Uttarkashi
From here to drive Uttarkashi and get ready for trek down to Gangotri after breakfast in the morning. You may witness the morning Aarti in the holy town, after visiting the Ma Ganga Temple. Stay overnight at hotels.
Day 08: Uttarkashi – Haridwar
Drive to Haridwar via Rishikesh after morning breakfast. Then you arrive at Haridwar. Stay overnight at here.
Day 09: Delhi Departure
After Morning Breakfast, Drive to Delhi. Now ends your trip here.
