Chandrashila Trekking

Above sea level Chandrashila is situated at 4000mts. Meaning of Chandrashila is “moon rock”. Pretty majestic Himalayan Peaks like NANDA DEVI, TRISHUL, BANDARPUNCH, CHAUKHAMBA and KEDAR PEAK. It is the most beautiful place in winters. High chances to spot many rare birds and wild species are seen in Chandrashila Trek. The tallest ones in the region is Chandrashila and Tungnath will show you the major peaks of Western and eastern Uttarakhand.

According to Mahabharata, the five Pandava brothers once thirsty, had comes to the water of Deoriatal and faced a test of wisdom. The highest Shiva shrine is Chandrashila in the world. The Tungnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The mesmerizing views of snow caped mountain and the pretty nature. The motivation is never lost and one goes on until the end of the summit stretch of the Tungnath Temple. From the summit Golden breasted eagles are the normal sights. Watching the pretty Alaknanda and other rivers you will be travelling to Haridwar, on the day of trek.

Chandrashila would be the perfect initiation for you. You would be spending some time during this trek. Deoria is a scenic lake in the Himalayas. An Ancient Cultures of the Gharwal Himalaya along with the hues of nature. A normal sight from the summit is Golden-breasted eagles. A pretty hilly village is popular for bird watching. The thick cover of snow will be an amusing part of the rigion, during the winters. For all kind of travelers Chandrashila is a favourite trekking route.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Sari from Haridwar
In Rudraprayag district the base camp is located from Haridwar it is an 8 hours drive. For trekkers, guest house, home stays and campsites are available here.

Day 02: Sari to Deoria Tal
From Sari the pretty campsite of Deoria Tal is situated at 3km. In this region trekking is a unique experience. Near the lake oversight stay is planned in tents at the campsite.

Day 03: Deoria Tal to Chopta
From Deoria Tal to Chopta takes close 9 hours at a distance 14km. Himalayan bird chirping all around with spectacular views. Rohini Bugyal, Akash Kamini waterfalls and Bhrujgali there are 2-3 water points. Bugyal region is also called as spectacular sunsets.

Day 04: Chopta to Tungnath/Chandrashila & then back to Chopta
The iconic Tungnath Temple at 12000feet. The highest Shiva Temple in the world is Chandrashila this temple is located in Tungnath range, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Some of the prominent peaks are Gangotri ranges, Nanda Devi, Kedar dome, Chaukhamba, Kamet, Dunagiri, Gangotri ranges, Jahanukut and Thalaysagar are visible from here.

Day 05: Chopta to Haridwar
You can comfortable reach back to Haridwar railway station by evening. You return back home, one of the most thrilling treks in the Himalayas with lots of memories. We wind up and drive back to Haridwar, after breakfast, in the morning.

BEST TIME TO VISIT IN CHOPTA
The best months to trek are Jan to March and winter trek are also conducted in Chopta. Travel to Chopta is in summers (April-June) and winters (Oct-Dec) are the best time to travel.

HOW TO REACH CHANDRASHILA
By Road: A road journey would be most convenient if you plan to visit the neighboring town in Uttarakhand. From nearby town come to Chopta many buses are available. From ISBT Kashmiri Gate to Haridwar regular bus service is available.

By Train: Haridwar to other important cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Mussoorie, Lucknow, Kolkata and Varanasi are well connected to rail networks. From Chopta the nearest and most convenient railway station is Rishikesh.

By Air: From Haridwar the Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun is located about 48km. Hire cabs are easily available for Chopta
